Anti-United Clause Inserted into Brahim Diaz Contract

The young jewel of Manchester City is set to sign for Madrid, but a reported 40% sell on clause was inserted if the player ever were to leave for Manchester United

Leicester City v Manchester City - Carabao Cup Quarter-Final

The signing of young Brahim Diaz is all but official— with many reports suggesting the player will be presented at the Bernabeu on Monday. English publication, The Telegraph, has reported on an “Anti-United” clause within the player’s new contract.

If in the future, Real Madrid opted to sell the young starlet, Manchester City would be assured a percentage of that profit—15%. If the club that is purchasing happens to be Manchester United, than that sell-on clause skyrockets to 40%. For a player that is out of contract this summer and not a necessity in the squad, Madrid arguably could have negotiated a far better deal.

The 19 year old is preparing to sign for six and half seasons, with the announcement expected after the Real Sociedad match. Along with the sell on clause, Madrid will purchase the player for a reported €15 million.
