Gareth Bale left the Bernabeu before the final whistle

It’s important to note that he was not required to stay as he wasn’t on the squad list, though.

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale left the Santiago Bernabeu during the team’s 0-2 loss to Real Sociedad, according to footage from El Chiringuito.

Apparently, Bale left the stadium at the 78th minute, when the game was still 0-1 and his teammates were fighting to score the equalizer.

Bale is currently out with a calf injury yet players not on the squad list usually stay until the very end of the game and they even go to meet their teammates at the dressing room even though they are not required to go to the games. Not a single report is suggesting why Bale left the stadium that early. Maybe something happened and he needed to leave, but we will never know.

Bale will need to miss at least two or three more games with his injury and Real Madrid’s coaching staff will not rush him back knowing his history with calf issues. He completed a brilliant FIFA Club World Cup, winning the award for Best Player in that tournament in the process.

Still, it’s clear that he was expected to lead Real Madrid this season and his performances have been somewhat disappointing in that regard. This controversy will not help his case in front of the fans.
