The School of Real Madrid is a youtube channel managed by Kiyan Sobhani (@KiyanSo), Om Arvind, and Naguib Anam (@NaguibAnam). The aim of our channel is to narrate and animate Real Madrid tactics, history, and other topics on a weekly basis.
We originally had an animator on board but he decided to part ways with us, meaning that we needed a lot more time to make this video. Apologies for that and we hope that the wait was worth your time.
If you do end up liking our video, please subscribe to our YouTube channel and follow us on Twitter and Facebook and consider supporting us on Patreon. Doing so will help us meet our goal of producing at least one video every week. Additionally, if you pledge a certain amount per month, you can help us pick what topic to do next.
Real Madrid are famed for many things: trophies, attacking football, demanding fans, an impatient board, and even black magic. But one thing they’re not well known for is good defense.
Why is that?
At the risk of over-generalizing, it has to do with the tactical decisions that Madrid have made in attack.
That sounds counterintuitive, but it is important to remember that offense and defense are not separate entities - they are two linked phases of the game that constantly influence each other. To understand why Real Madrid generally struggles defensively, you have to look at their scheme from a holistic perspective.
