Varane, Courtois won’t face Leganes in the Copa del Rey

Real Madrid completed Tuesday’s training session ahead of Wednesday’s Copa del Rey match against Leganes. New signing Brahim Diaz trained with his teammates and appears to be ready to play while Raphael Varane and Thibaut Courtois won’t be available for the game.

Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente and Mariano Diaz won’t be available either as they are still recovering from their injuries, just like Toni Kroos.

This means that coach Santiago Solari will be forced to make some rotations in this game. He would’ve done so either way, most likely, given that Real Madrid tend to use the first games in the Copa del Rey as a chance to give minutes to the reserves.

That said, players like Ceballos, Isco, Brahim, Nacho, Reguilon, Odriozola or Vallejo could all feature against Leganes this Wednesday. They will need to take the game very seriously but Real Madrid will be the favorites to win even with that lineup.
