Real Madrid are interested in Brazilian Porto defender Militao, who will have a €50 million release clause next summer, according to a report from MARCA.
Militao is still very young as he will turn 21 years old this month but Real Madrid have seen enough to consider his signing, per that same report. Porto signed Militao away from Sao Paulo and spent just €4 million on his signing, so this would be a great move for Porto, who tend to sign promising players and then sell them when they’ve proven they can perform in European football.
Real Madrid will need a quality center-back sooner rather than later as Sergio Ramos isn’t getting any younger and Jesus Vallejo is not considered the answer for that spot long term anymore because of his injuries.
Militao is an undisputed starter for Porto and will play in the upcoming Champions League Round of 16, so Real Madrid fans might want to pay close attention to what the defender can do in the big stage.
