Just three days after their shock defeat to Real Sociedad in the league, it is time for Real Madrid to take on Leganes at home in the Santiago Bernabeu for the first leg in the Copa del Rey Round of 16.
There are a ton of injuries right now, as per usual it seems, with the newest victim being Courtois. It will be interesting to see how Navas responds in this situation, or if he will even have any work to do today. Many fans will be excited to see Navas in the net. Could he make a Cinderella story of it and maybe make a few game winning saves to win his starting spot back for good this season? Highly unlikely...
Leganes is currently in 16th place in La Liga, and there is no reason that Real Madrid shouldn’t be able to win this fixture. But, we’ve seen it before. Our team is struggling right now and is extremely unpredictable. Solari makes weird hand gestures, Vasquez rips his shirt, and sometimes we are saved by a Vinicius-created-own-goal. Still, we are very much in this competition so hopefully the guys come out with a serious attitude and we walk away with an easy win!
Hala Madrid!
