Donny Van de Beek was back to his best tonight against Ajax, as the Dutch side dismantled Valencia 3-0 at the Mestalla. Van de Beek managed to get on the score sheet with another one of his stealthy runs into the box and a clinical finish. His production was not limited to just the goal as he also provided an assist against the Spanish side. Earlier today, quotes emerged from Dutch outlet, Voetbal, where Donny clarified his intentions for the remainder of the season.
“I will finish the season at Ajax. At Real Madrid, they already know that. I do not like to change teams midway through the season,” he told Voetbal. The quotes insinuate that a deal with Real Madrid is still on and that the transfer will more than likely go through in the summer.
Spanish publication AS reported that Real Madrid scouts were watching VdB while he played at the Mestalla tonight. One would imagine that with both Odegaard and Van de Beek, and possibly even Ceballos, all forming as part of Real Madrid’s squad next summer that there may be impending departures for the likes of Modric, Isco, and James.
