Zinedine Zidane’s job at Real Madrid is in jeopardy, according to a report from La Sexta’s Josep Pedrerol in El Chiringuito.
Pedrerol reported that Zidane’s situation is “very fragile” right now as the club feels that “his message has not been effective so far this season.” "He will travel to Istambul with the team. To Istambul yes, he will," added Pedrerol.
While El Chiringuito have not been the most reliable TV show in the Spanish media, it’s fairly safe to assume that Zidane’s players will have to improve their current form if the Frenchman wants to complete the season.
Madrid are just one point behind Barcelona in the table but will face Galatasaray this Tuesday in what is a must win for Los Blancos after the loss in Paris and the draw at home against Brugge.
Zidane himself acknowledges that his team simply has to improve as it doesn’t have the consistency needed to fight for trophies this season. Real Madrid’s performances this season have been worrying —even when Los Blancos got a win— and Zidane’s men definitely need to gain confidence and momentum for what’s ahead. If they can put a streak of wins together ahead of December’s El Clasico, Zidane’s job will be much safer.
