El Clasico was set to take place this upcoming Saturday but the RFEF decided to postpone amid the ongoing protests in Catalonia. Then, both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona reached an agreement over a new date and suggested December 18th as the day for El Clasico. The RFEF finally agreed and confirmed the new date.
However, it might not be over yet, as La Liga published a statement and disagree about December 18th being a good date for El Clasico.
La Liga would rather have the match on a weekend as a weekday hurts TV rights and broadcasters in general. Still, it doesn’t seem to be their decision to make, so while they are “exploring potential legal actions” to defend their rights, Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet on December 18th.
