Real Madrid completed Saturday’s training session without four key players in James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema, Raphael Varane and Gareth Bale, who trained in Valdebebas’ gym and seem to be nursing some kind of minor injury.
While Bale has been out of the team’s training sessions ever since the last FIFA break, James, Benzema and Varane seemed to be just fine and should be recovered in time for Wednesday’s home match against Leganes, which could also be a good opportunity for coach Zinedine Zidane to rotate his squad and feature some reserves in the starting lineup.
The club have not published a medical report on any of those four players and it’s common that they miss a training session here and there if there’s time ahead of the next game.
Bale’s situation is different, however. He’s been out for quite a while now and the club have yet to update his status. Bale picked up some kind of calf issue during Wales’ match against Croatia and hasn’t been training with the squad ever since. Real Madrid have not published an injury report and Zidane hasn’t discussed this particular injury.
