Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale asked the club not to publish a medical update on the calf injury he picked up during Wales’ last match against Croatia, according to a report from MARCA, AS and El Chiringuito. Bale hasn’t been training with the squad ever since that past FIFA break and it seems that he will need more time to recover properly from his injury.

Apparently, and according to those three reports which refer to Article 22.4 of Law 31/1995, Bale has every right to request privacy about his injuries as doctors are not allowed to publish medical information about their patients without their consent, which Bale has reportedly denied lately.

That would be the reason why coach Zinedine Zidane has not addressed Bale’s status during the last press conferences. All in all, it seems that Bale and his agent think that publishing reports about his injuries could ultimately hurt his reputation and market value as a player.

Bale hasn’t rejoined the squad in training yet and seems set to miss Real’s home match against Leganes next Wednesday, which would be the third consecutive game he’s missed after the FIFA break.
