Robert Moreno announced the latest Spain squad today with a few new faces. Sergio Reguilón, Real Madrid loanee, has been in tremendous form for Sevilla and was justly rewarded with his first full call-up to the National team. In less than 14 months, Reguilón was promoted to the Real Madrid first team, won a starting position over Marcelo, debut for the Spanish U21 team, now starts and stars for Sevilla on loan, and is expected to make his full Spanish National team debut against Norway or Sweden. It’s been a whirlwind of 14 months and a meteoric rise.
Of the current Madrid squad, Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal continue to be mainstays in the Spain squad. Sergio Ramos is expected to become the most capped player in Spanish National team history after the next round of games. Meanwhile, Carvajal is battling it out with Jesus Navas for the right back position ahead of Euro 2020 with the 33-year-old Navas currently having the edge.
And lastly, there is another one of Madrid loanee’s who has consistently been called up to the full squad over the last 12 months, Dani Ceballos. At Arsenal, he’s been finding that consistent game-time he has so desperately craved. Ceballos will be another looking to cement his starting position ahead of Euro 2020.
