Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale will hand in a transfer request next summer to leave the club, according to a report from AS’ Guillem Balague. The Welshman didn’t expect to miss Real’s Champions League match against Brugge and feels that coach Zinedine Zidane doesn’t respect him, per that same report.

Bale has been a bright spot this season, especially considering that he was on his way out of Real Madrid for most of the summer. While he admitted that he’s not playing “happy” when he talked to the press during the past FIFA break, it looks like he is in Zidane’s plans for this season.

Balague’s report might be a bit premature given that we’re still in the first third of the season. Zidane clearly wanted him out of the club and a deal almost got done. In the end, Bale stayed because he wanted to stay. If he really wants out and Balague’s report is accurate, this will be his last season in the club because Real Madrid won’t force him to stay.
