The Spanish media have looked to stir the pot once again, asking Dani Ceballos if he missed Real Madrid. Rather than opting for the diplomatic answer the midfielder was honest and blunt in his response.

“I don’t feel sorry for not being in Madrid. I was clear that I wanted to leave. Right now I am where I want to be and I am very happy. My idea was to go out, play, and enjoy football. In the previous two years, I had not done so—I couldn’t play and I didn’t enjoy my football. Going to Arsenal has been a very important step in my career,” he told the Spanish press while away on international duty.

Questions then found their way to Dani’s relationship with Zidane. He was asked whether it was essential that Zidane not be in Madrid in order for him to return. “Zidane won 3 UCL’s, I can’t tell you what will happen. I have 8 months left with Arsenal, I can only give Arsenal thanks for trusting me, also to the fans who have even made me a song. I hope it lasts a long time,” he concluded.

Dani Ceballos certainly made his thoughts be known and likely won’t be endearing himself to the Real Madrid faithful. He has enjoyed his time at Arsenal and may be positioning for a permanent move.
