The Spanish Football Federation held the draw for the upcoming Spanish Supercup, which will be played next January in Saudi Arabia. Real Madrid will face Valencia on January 8th while Barcelona will play the other Semifinal against Atletico de Madrid on January 9th.

The winners of the two Semifinals will play the Final on January 12th.

“To win a title is just enough motivation so that we can get to the competition in the best form we can. We will do our best to face the competition, it’s a privilege to play this Supercup,” said Ramos after the draw.

Real Madrid have not faced Valencia this season. It’s clear that this is a good draw for Los Blancos given that Valencia are quite probably the weakest team out of the four involved in the tournament. The Spanish Supercup is not a very important competition but a potential Final against Barcelona or Atletico could very well have an effect on the team’s confidence for the second half of the season.
