Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric made his return from Croatia’s training camp sooner than expected and trained with his teammates on Tuesday. Modric and his country agreed on this early return and the midfielder will be fresh and ready to go for Saturday’s match against Real Sociedad.
Most of Madrid’s international players will return to the Spanish capital this Wednesday but some of them will have to wait until Thursday to train with their teammates. Knowing the importance of Saturday’s match, it will be crucial for coach Zinedine Zidane and the rest of the staff to rely on Modric.
The midfielder knows that he needs to compete with Fede Valverde for a spot in the starting XI. The team has played better with Valverde in the midfield but Modric will not give up and his decision to cut his FIFA break short could pay dividends if he ends up completing a good performance and leading the midfield against a quality team like Real Sociedad.
