Real Madrid published their squad list for Saturday’s match against Real Sociedad —21:00 CEST—.

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Areola and Altube.

Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo and Mendy.

Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde and Isco.

Attackers: Hazard, Benzema, Bale, Jović and Rodrygo.

Coach Zinedine Zidane said that he would count on Bale and that’s what he did. Not only the Welshman made the squad list, he is also ahead of Vinicius in the pecking order as the promising attacker was left out of the matchday squad and will miss the game even after training in Valdebebas for the last two weeks of FIFA break.

It will be interesting to see if Bale features in the starting lineup because Rodrygo Goes has definitely done enough to earn his place in the XI. However, Bale’s return from injury gives Zidane the option to be patient with the young attacker and that’s precisely what he might end up doing.
