Good news for the defender.

Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez rejoined the squad in Wednesday’s training session after recovering from the knee injury he picked up two months ago. Nacho should be available when Los Blancos visit Alaves this Saturday.

Although Nacho is not expected to be a relevant player this season, especially after the signing of Eder Militao, his presence gives Zidane more options for his defensive line because of his ability to play multiple positions.

Coach Zidane has not made rotations very often so far this season and that’s precisely why Nacho will most likely have to wait for his chance on the bench, just like Militao and Odriozola. At the very least, all three of those backups should feature in Real Madrid’s ties in the Copa del Rey.

James, Asensio, Lucas Vazquez and Eden Hazard are Real Madrid’s injured players at the moment. Considering that only Hazard is a key starter for Los Blancos, Zidane and his coaching staff will hope to have some more good luck regarding injuries.
