Midfielder Fede Valverde signed a contract extension with Real Madrid last summer, one which will keep him in the club until 2025, according to a report from MARCA. Real Madrid included a €750 million release clause on his deal to make sure that no club in Europe will be able to trigger that clause, per that same report.
Valverde has blossomed into a crucial player for this Real Madrid team and it won’t be easy for coach Zinedine Zidane to give him rest as his intensity and physicality make his teammates better, even if that means benching reigning Ballon D’Or Luka Modric.
The midfielder is still 21 years old and has plenty of room for improvement, mainly distributing the ball. That’s the one aspect of his game which could take him to the next level.
Real Madrid entered the season having tried to sign Paul Pogba away from Manchester United, but it looks like Valverde’s appearance will ultimately allow the club to look elsewhere for improving their current squad.
