Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos talked in an interview with TUDN and discussed the team’s current form, the upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona, his career in the club and Zidane’s return.

“I will keep playing until that excitement goes away. I will just enjoy it as long as I keep feeling well. I take a good care of my body and I hope to be this well for many years to come. I’m not willing to rule out a coaching job or some kind of other job in football for the future,” said Ramos, whose contract with the club expires in 2021.

The Spanish defender was asked about his favorite moment wearing Real Madrid’s jersey and Ramos’ choice is not shocking.

“I think that the goal in Lisbon has been the most iconic moment from a personal standpoint and from the club perspective also. It changed history because it allowed us to win the trophy again and it gave us confidence and momentum for the three consecutive Champions League titles that came after that one. It obviously means a lot because of how the game was going, but our Champions League titles are like my children, I just can’t tell you which one I love the most,” explains the captain.

“I feel very proud, this is something that I had to work a lot on. There are many things going on in the backstage which people just don’t know, our success is not a coincidence. I hope my legacy inspires millions of children around the world so that they realize that dreams can come true,” added Ramos about his legacy in the club.

Real Madrid will face Barcelona in a crucial El Clasico next week. Ramos was asked about the game.

“We’re both in good form. We’re excited about this game when our opponent is in good form, but it’s true that in these games form doesn’t matter as much, it’s a different game. We’re hoping to make a statement and win it,” said Ramos.

The defender also shared his thoughts on Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club after taking a surprising sabbatical.

“Zizou is a phenomenal coach, he knows how this club works. We had such a glorious era with him in charge and he knew what this team needed, it was a very important and brave decision from him to come back. We were coming off a critical situation and we struggled a bit when he first came back, but we’re extremely happy with him and he’s the best one to take us out of that difficult situation we were in,” concluded Ramos.
