Real Madrid spokesman and club legend Emilio Butragueño talked to the media in Nyon right after the team drew Manchester City as their opponents for the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

“It’s a very tough opponent to face this early in the competition, a very important club and it will be a thrilling tie for the world of football. We’re facing it with great excitement and confidence in our players, they all know how important this competition is for the club and for our fans. We will face a team who will force us to play our best football,” said Butragueño.

The former striker was asked about whether he considers the Premier League clubs like Manchester City or Liverpool the favorites to win the trophy.

“It’s true that they’ve spent a lot during the last few years but we’re Real Madrid and that means we’re ready to face any opponent. We’ve got weeks ahead of this tie, the first game will be in front ofour fans and we will try to get a good result there so that we can be in Nyon again for the Quarterfinals draw,” explained Butragueño.

Real Madrid’s spokesman also supported his players and said that they’re the best in the world.

“We have to think that we have the world’s best players, we will have to complete a good and inspiring game. We’re used to these games, I think fans around the world will be very excited about it,” concluded Butragueño.
