James Rodriguez Returns To Training

Real Madrid returned to Madrid late last night after El Clasico, and have already resumed training at Valdebebas. Today’s session saw Zidane’s men begin preparations for this weekend’s clash against Athletic Club. The biggest news in training today was that James Rodriguez has returned to full contact practice, and finished the entire training session with the team this morning. His return is timely as the team misses Eden Hazard’s presence in attack, and Zidane may opt to rest one or two players.

Lucas Vazquez was also in training today, although he is still training alone and not with the rest of the team. Marco Asensio, Marcelo, and Hazard continue their recovery programs.

The starters at Camp Nou had their own recovery session today. After warmups, the team did the routine stuff: rondos, and focus on possession and pressing. The training ended with the usual scrimmage on a reduced pitch size.

Also, as we all knew before the game, Ramos claimed his prize as the all-time Clasico appearance leader:

And one more thing.... Happy 32nd birthday Karim Benzema!
