Paul Pogba is still on Real Madrid’s radar but the club will not try to sign the French midfielder during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to a report from MARCA. Real Madrid made Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola aware of the situation, per that same report.
Much has been written about Pogba this week, as The Telegraph published quotes from Raiola indicating that the midfielder “wants to stay at Manchester United but he needs more support.” Raiola also confirmed that Madrid tried to sign his client this past summer but United ended up rejecting every offer.
Pogba hasn’t played in three months and some reports suggested that he could be on his way out of Manchester this winter, but now it definitely seems that he will have to wait until the summer of 2020 to see if Madrid are ready to improve their offer. Manchester United’s coach Solksjaer also said during his latest press conference that Pogba “won’t be sold this winter.”
Real Madrid will have an intriguing decision to make next summer if Fede Valverde keeps performing this well. The Uruguayan midfielder is now an undisputed starter for Madrid and even though Pogba would probably be an upgrade, it’s also clear that maybe Los Blancos just don’t need to spend that kind of money on a midfielder right now.
