Real Madrid published a note on their official site to wish their fans a Merry Christmas. As usual, president Florentino Perez, coach Zinedine Zidane and team captains Sergio Ramos and Marcelo featured in the note and shared their thoughts about the first half of the season.
“We hope that 2020 brings lots of success for our team and we also want to stay healthy. To end the season fighting for all three trophies as well. We’d like to reach the last weeks of the season competing for La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. From a personal standpoint, I also want to keep being healthy and to play as many games as I can for my club, which is the thing that makes me happy,” explained captain Sergio Ramos.
“We will always keep in mind our motto of never giving up and we will keep working as hard as we can so that Madrid can be the most beloved and admired institution in the world. Merry Christmas to all,” said Florentino Perez.
Coach Zinedine Zidane proved that he still thinks about football and delivered a message which could be used in one of his press conferences.
“We want to keep our good form and the good results which allow us to compete for all three titles. I won’t ask for anything else because we’re all very engaged and committed to what we’re doing and that’s the most important thing for a coach. We know how important our fans are and we will do our best so that they can be proud. That’s how we’ll reach important things this year,” said Zidane.
Marcelo was the last one to speak as the club’s second captain.
“I want to be healthy because it’s impossible to achieve what we want to achieve without being healthy. We also want success, happiness and good things for the team. We want to enjoy life, especially inside the field, which is the most beautiful thing,” concluded the left-back.
