Yesterday, it was revealed that Martin Odegaard could be returning to Real Madrid in the summer of 2020. This would leave Real Sociedad with a gaping whole in their midfield. According to Goal Japan, the team from Donostia would be very interested in securing the services of Takefusa Kubo on loan from Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are happy with Kubo’s development and minutes at Real Mallorca, but would like to see him experience a higher level next season. On the last Loan Tracker Podcast, Kiyan Sobhani and Matt Wiltse identified Real Sociedad as a club that would fit Kubo’s characteristics and be a good potential landing spot ahead of next season. The Japanese wonder-kid would be better suited in a team that dominated the ball and actively pursued the opposition's goal in every possession.
There is no guaranteeing where Kubo could end up next season, but it’s unlikely he remains at Mallorca given their struggle to stay in La Liga.
