According to Sergio Santos of Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid are looking to terminate Jesus Vallejo’s loan move to Wolves early and send him to a new club in the January transfer window. The club are very concerned with the lack of minutes for the 22-year-old Vallejo and his development has stalled. Since the disaster match vs Chelsea, where Wolves conceded 5 goals (Vallejo at fault for at least two goals), the young Spaniard lost the confidence of Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

How did Vallejo end up at Wolves in the first place? A call from Nuno himself. In an interview with AS in October, the defender revealed all: “Nuno called me himself and explained the project. It was the club that pushed hardest for my signature”. The center back was a demand of Nuno, but ultimately things have not worked out as both intended.

Both Madrid and the player are ready to pull the plug on this loan deal. There are many other interested parties who would like to take the center back on loan for the rest of the season. Among those interested parties are Eintracht Frankfurt, Leganes, and Espanyol. Vallejo does not want to jeopardize his potential participation in the Olympics this summer, and a loan move with a guaranteed starting role is imperative.
