Thousands of fans packed Estadio Alfredo di Stefano today in what was Real Madrid’s second-to-last training session of 2019, where the club opened the doors to the club members. The stadium filled up almost two hours before the training session began.

Fans were able to watch Zidane put his team through some physical drills and rondos, before the team worked on possession and pressing exercises.

Marcelo and Lucas Vazquez worked with the team for part of the training; while Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio continued their recovery behind the scenes.

Quotes

Casemiro

“We finished the year well. We had a good rest and now we have to return. We have to take away the good things that were done this year, but this continues, and we have to start 2020 well. Training with the fans is very nice because you’re closer to the fans. Many things go through your mind when you train at the Di Stéfano, I remember when I played here with Castilla. I wish for a healthy year for all as well as titles and victories”.

Marcelo

”I’m feeling very good and continuing my recovery. I now have to wait a little longer to get back on top. This training session is special because we’re closer to the fans and especially the children. They’re always very affectionate with us and we want to be close to them. The first thing I ask for this year is health, which is the most important thing, and successes. We are always grateful for the life we have”.

Valverde

”It’s so nice to share this moment with the children and families who come here to have a great time. We’re here for them to enjoy themselves. We’re focussed on the match against Getafe, but today is a special day. We try to enjoy it with the fans because it’s their support we receive every weekend. I hope that next year we win titles, continue to be a very united as a team as we are at the moment and join our forces to fight for this badge”.

Lucas Vázquez

”I’m happy to be back on the pitch with my teammates and little by little I’m getting a feel for it. The important thing is to get up to match fitness with the team to be at my best and be able to help them. This training session means a lot to us because we always have the support of our fans and it’s an honour to give them this day. What I ask for in 2020 is that we steer clear of injuries. We’re going to give everything to win as many titles as possible”.

Vinicius Jr

”There’s nothing better than being with the fans. We’re very happy because they’re always with us and it will always be like that. Real Madrid have the best fans. I ask that in next year we can win LaLiga and the Champions League and continue to play well so that the fans can enjoy themselves”.
