Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes and Achraf Hakimi —who is currently playing for Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal— have both been included in UEFA’s Champions League breakthrough team of 2019 after their brilliant performances during the 2019 Champions League’s Group Stage.

Rodrygo scored a perfect hat-trick during his first start for Madrid in the European competition and proved that he’s not only a brilliant prospect but also a very mature player who can already make an impact.

A player who has got a bit of everything according to Zinédine Zidane, the Brazilian youngster announced himself with a perfect hat-trick against Galatasaray.

Achraf, on the other hand, has shown his versatility, playing as a midfielder when Borussia have needed him. His natural position is on the right side of the defensive line and he will surely have what it takes to compete with Carvajal for the starting spot next season, once his current loan deal in Dortmund expires.

The Real Madrid academy product is a key cog in Lucien Favre’s dynamic system and, with four group stage goals, the Moroccan is not backwards about coming forward.

Other players featured in the XI are Lautaro Martinez, Dayot Upamecano, Dani Olmo or Kai Havertz.

Rodrygo is also the youngest player in UEFA’s breakthrough team.
