Real Madrid have published a medical report on Marcelo, who picked up a calf injury in training and will miss El Clásico.

Following by tests carried out on our player, Marcelo, by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in his left soleus. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

This is yet another muscle injury for Real Madrid, who had a healthy squad but suffered many of them during the first few months of the season. Marcelo is a huge absence for the team, who will have to trust Ferland Mendy at the Camp Nou. Mendy has been promising and encouraging when given the chance but El Clásico at the Camp Nou is a very tough game and Marcelo's creativity on offense just can't be replaced.

Marcelo should be back from this injury in around a month, so his presence in the Spanish Supercup could be questionable given that muscle injuries are always tough to heal.
