Brahim Diaz has found minutes very hard to come by in the 2019-2020 season. After becoming a favorite of Zidane’s at the end of the previous season, Brahim suffered back to back injuries which curtailed his progress and diminished his role within the Real Madrid squad. In the summer, many thought a loan move would be the best option. Getafe president, Angel Torres, recently revealed to Cadena Ser that the club tried to sign Brahim on loan this summer and are still interested.
It’s not just Getafe who would love to deploy the winger’s skill set. According to Cadena Ser, all of Alaves, Sevilla, Espanyol, and Rayo Vallecano have all approached the player as well as Real Madrid, requesting a potential loan move. Brahim Diaz is set to reject all these offers in favor of staying at Real Madrid and fighting for his opportunity. According to those close to the players camp, the winger recognizes that the season is long and feels strongly that he will get his chances to prove himself once again.
At 20-years-old, playing time is critical, especially for a player who has featured sparingly for both Manchester City and Real Madrid. But, over a long season, Brahim’s decision may pay off. With recent injuries to Hazard, Bale, and Lucas Vazquez, his opportunities may be coming thick and fast. Brahim was one of the bright spots in a dark season last year and will be looking to again make the most of his opportunities and impress Zidane.
