Real Madrid have published their squad list for Saturday’s home match against Espanyol.
REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeeper: Courtois, Areola and Altube.
Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Sergio Ramos, Varane, Odriozola and Mendy.
Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, Brahim and Isco.
Forwards: Benzema, Jović, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.
This one should be a fairly manageable game for Real Madrid and a very good opportunity for coach Zinedine Zidane to make some rotations, given that the team’s next two matches in La Liga are away against Valencia and Barcelona.
Young players like Militao, Vinicius, Jovic or Brahim need minutes and this home game against Espanyol seems perfect for Zidane to find minutes for them, although he will have another opportunity when Madrid visit Brugge next week in what will be a meaningless game for Los Blancos.
Furthermore, Casemiro is only a yellow card away from being suspended, so it would make sense to rest him this time.
