Courtois says Hazard’s potential move to Real Madrid “would be good”

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois talked to VTM Nieuws about the reports suggesting that his former teammate Eden Hazard might join the club this upcoming summer.

“It would be good, but it’s his decision and of course I can’t say much about it. Eden is a great player and also my friend, if he came here it would be good, but he must make his decision,” said Courtois when asked about the rumors.

Hazard has said many times in the past that he likes Real Madrid and that he would be keen on a move to the Spanish capital. His current contract with Chelsea expires in 2020 so it seems that this upcoming summer would be the right time for Madrid to make a move for the winger if they’re really interested.

Hazard publicly confirmed to RMC that he will announce his decision “soon”. The attacker could be signing a contract extension with the London-based club, but if he doesn’t Real Madrid clearly have the edge to sign him.
