Real Madrid host Alaves in what will be the calm before the storm, as Los Blancos face big rivals Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid next week.

Messi’s team dropped points this Saturday and this match gives Madrid a good chance to cut their deficit down to eight points, even though that’s still a big margin for Barcelona. Alaves have been playing well and might be a tough team to beat, but Solari might make some rotations for this one.

In fact, Toni Kroos did not make the squad list. Varane and Carvajal are suspended and will also miss this game while Karim Benzema could get some much needed rest now that Mariano is back with the team after recovering from his back injury.

Real Madrid need to keep gaining confidence after their encouraging performances of late. Their upcoming games against Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid will be a big test for Solari’s men.
