Real Madrid take on Alaves in the Santiago Bernabeu in an effort to make up some points in the league race. Los blancos are coming off of a convincing win against Girona in the Copa del Rey just three days ago, and we hope to see the same form out of the team today.
As Lucas noted in his squad list post, surely some of these players are getting tired after playing non-stop post-winter break. Personally, I’m not sure when the right time will be to rotate as every game in the league is a must-win and we are just beginning to find our rhythm and some continuity. We also can’t afford to risk games in the other competitions where we still have a chance for a trophy.
Of course, we must focus on this immediate game in front of us, but rotations matter when we have a mid-week el Clasico and el Derbi Madrileno all within the next six days. Injuries and suspensions are all things we just cannot risk right now. The next week will tell us a lot.
Let’s see what Solari and the men in white have up their sleeves for today at least. HALA MADRID!
