Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez will feature in the starting lineup when the team face Barcelona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey Semifinals this Wednesday, according to a report from MARCA. Coach Santiago Solari wants to keep Barcelona’s left-back Jordi Alba under control and that will be Lucas Vazquez’s mission, per that same report.
Lucas Vazquez has started 14 games for Real Madrid since Solari took over and has played over 1,100 minutes.
The winger did not play against Alaves this past Sunday and therefore will be fresh enough to compete throughout all 90 minutes of what’s expected to be a very intense and tough games for both sides.
If Vazquez does indeed start, Vinicius, Bale and Marco Asensio will be competing for the remaining spot in Madrid’s offensive line, given that Karim Benzema is an undisputed starter and arguably one of the brightest spots for Los Blancos this season as well.
