Atletico de Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez talked to AS and revealed that Real Madrid tried to sign him two years ago. Hernandez said that he never wanted to leave Atletico and join Real.

“I can only tell you that many things have been written and said, but the truth is that two years ago Real Madrid reached my agent and sent a big offer our way. I told them that I didn’t want to consider it. Everyone knows how much I owe Atletico de Madrid for raising me as a player,” said Hernandez.

This is some good timing for Lucas Hernandez. Atletico de Madrid and Real Madrid play the Madrid Derby at the Wanda Metropolitano this Saturday and Hernandez is showing how much he cares for his club. Now, the fans will appreciate him even more.

Hernandez was rumored to be on his way to Bayern Munich this past winter but ended up staying in Atletico.
