Real Madrid announce squad for La Liga match against Celta Vigo

Real Madrid published their squad list for Saturday’s home match against Celta in what will be Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Santiago Bernabeu after leaving the team nine months ago.

REAL MADRID SQUAD:

Goalkeeper: Navas, Courtois and Luca.

Defenders: Ramos, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Odriozola and Reguilón.

Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Valverde, Asensio, Brahim, Isco and Ceballos.

Forwards: Mariano, Benzema and Bale.

Zidane will probably trust most of the reserves here as Vinicius, Carvajal and Lucas are all injured. Isco has also made his return to the squad list and could possibly start the game and earn some redemption as he tries to secure his place in next year’s team.

It will be interesting to see if Zidane decides to play with Ceballos deployed as a defensive midfielder given that he barely played the Spanish midfielder last season. Valverde could feature behind Kroos and Modric if Zidane doesn’t go that way. This is a game Real Madrid should win.
