Bayern Munich playmaker James Rodriguez, whose loan deal with the German club expires this summer, talked to the press after scoring a hat-trick against Mainz this weekend.

“Nobody knows anything about my future. The clubs will talk about it,” said James when asked about where he will play next season. “I’m very happy and comfortable here, Kovac is a great coach and I’m sure we can win many trophies with him,” he added.

Bayern Munich have an option to sign James Rodriguez to a permanent deal if they spend €40 million, although reports from the German press indicate that Bayern will not be willing to pay that much for the midfielder.

James Rodriguez played two seasons for Real Madrid but didn’t have a relevant role with Zinedine Zidane in charge, meaning that Los Blancos will almost certainly decide to sell the Colombian player even if Bayern do not trigger their option after the current loan deal expires.
