Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior talked to Cadena SER this Tuesday and revealed that FC Barceona offered him a better contract even though he ended up joining Real Madrid instead.
“Barcelona wanted to pay more but we wanted the best project and Marcelo and Casemiro spoke to me and helped me make the decision,” revealed the attacker.
“My family and me we all wanted to live in Madrid. They’re all Real Madrid fans. Well, my father is a fan of Vinicius FC [laughs],” he added.
The winger also said he’s hoping to win the Ballon D’Or in five or six years.
“Yes, I’m training and working for that and I see myself winning it when I’m 25 years old or so. I think I can do it,” said Vinicius.
The young player also explained that he’s working to improve his finishing.
“I think that I can improve that with training. I’m still 18 years old and I have not reached my ceiling. Karim teaches me moves to finish and I try to do them quickly. Marcelo and Solari also talked to me about it,” he says.
“I’ve been under pressure since I started playing in Flamengo. I don’t have pressure when I’m playing, I want to play and I do that with the best, so that’s why I’m calm.”
“We are working hard to finish the season well and compete for every single trophy next year,” concluded Vinicius.
