Santos president says "Rodrygo will be one of the best"

Santos president José Carlos Peres has talked to AS about Rodrygo, who will join Real Madrid next summer. Peres praised the young player and thinks that he can succeed in the Spanish capital.

"Rodrygo will be one of the best. Madrid made a great investment and they were not wrong," he said.

Peres also revealed that he would like to keep Rodrygo for next season if Real Madrid decide that he needs one more year to keep developing as a player. Rodrygo might lack the experience to become a relevant player in Real Madrid next season, especially if Los Blancos make some quality signings for their offensive line.

"I have the utmost respect for the next step in Rodrygo's career and I hope he succeeds. However, if the possibility to keep him for one more season exists then I will try my very best," concluded Peres.
