Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro talked to the press about the signing of fellow Brazilian defender Militao, who will join the club next summer.
"I have to congratulate Real Madrid because almost every club in Europe were trying to sign him. Militao has earned his chance to join the club and he will be welcome next season," said the midfielder.
"He's still with Porto playing in so many competitions so I'm sure that he's totally focused in this current season," he added.
Real Madrid triggered the €50 million release clause in Militao's contract with the Portuguese club and announced his signing a week ago. Militao will then join the club next June and will be expected to be the primary backup for both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. His intensity and physicality will be welcome in Real Madrid's defensive line, where he could also play as a right-back if needed.
