Liverpool winger Sadio Mane is on Real Madrid’s radar for the upcoming transfer window as coach Zinedine Zidane considers him a priority, according to a report from Spanish newspaper MARCA.

France Football reported last summer that Madrid had reached an agreement with the player last summer, but this deal collapsed when Zidane decided to leave the club after winning the third straight Champions League title.

Signing Mane would not be cheap for Real Madrid. He’s under contract and Liverpool just don’t need the money and probably feel like Mane is a cornerstone for what they are trying to build under Jurgen Klopp right now.

Mane is definitely a quality player but it seems that Chelsea’s Eden Hazard could be a more realistic option for Real Madrid given that his contract expires in 2020. Madrid would probably need to spend close to €100 million to sign Mane and he could need quite some time to get used to playing in the Spanish league, where he will not have as much room to operate as he has in the Premier League.
