During the international break, Real Madrid’s Casemiro and Brazil were called into action for two friendly matches one against Panama and the other, the Czech Republic.

As the European nations were preparing to participate in their 2020 European Cup Qualifiers, the midfielder and his South American teammates made the most of their matches.

Tonight against their European opponents, Brazil managed to come from behind and claim a 1-3 victory thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino (49’) and Gabriel Jesus (83’, 90’) at Sinobo Stadium in Prague.

During this particular game, Casemiro was gifted the responsibility of wearing the Captain’s armband and lead the team on the pitch while dictating the route of play in the midfield.

By playing in the middle of the pitch, in front of four defenders and behind four attackers, the No. 5 was given free range to change the dynamic of the game as he thought fit.

He eventually was subbed off for Barcelona’s Arthur in the 71st minute.

Earlier in the week, the team also played a friendly match against Panama at the Estadio Do Dragao in Porto, Portugal again with Casemiro leading the squad as Captain.

Brazil side put on a stellar display of football and were in total control of the game but unfortunately could not find a break through to come out with a win.

The match ended in a shock 1-1 draw (Tolentino Coelho de Lima 32’ and Machado 36’) but the game was still a positive one for Tite’s squad and the players all put on good individual performances.

The players will return to club duty on March 31 in Madrid as they welcome Huesca to the Estadio Santiago Bernbeu.
