Brazil coach: “Vinicius lost a good chance to play with us”

Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior couldn’t make his debut with the Brazilian national team because of the injury he picked up during the discouraging loss to Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League. Brazil’s coach Tite talked about this matter and Vinicius’ chances of playing in the upcoming Copa America with his country.

“Vinicius lost a chance and he’s going to have to play very well for Real Madrid. Neres will have to do the same and the same goes for Richarlison, who played because of Pedro’s injury and performed well,” said Tite.

Brazil will published the final squad list for the Copa America on May 17th and it’s not clear if Vinicius will finally be given the chance to represent his country in the tournament.

“We keep telling them that they have to play well in their clubs. We will keep monitoring the situation and their form will be decisive for our decision,” added Tite.

Vinicius will be expected to recover and make his return to the team by the end of April, meaning that he won’t have many chances with Real Madrid to regain his good form and prove that he deserves a spot in the Copa America.
