According to Spanish publication, Marca, general director Jose Angel Sanchez met with Fali Ramadani, the agent of both Miralem Pjanic and Luka Jovic. The meeting took place this Thursday at Valdebebas and apparently was just initial contact by the club to gauge the status of both players.
Jose Luis Sanchez later reported for El Chiringuito, that the meeting was centered around 21-year-old Serbian striker Luka Jovic. The forward has set both the Bundesliga and Europe alight this season, scoring 22 goals in 36 appearances. In the same report from Jose Luis Sanchez, it was revealed that Jovic’s representatives had contacted the club as early as January.
This was Madrid’s first concrete connection to Jovic and Pjanic despite murmurs in the press. The Juventus man is a huge fan of Zidane, but would require a hefty fee and is not a requirement. Meanwhile, Jovic, would fill a need for the club—adding depth in the striker position— but most reports have seen him closely linked to Barcelona in recent months. It could be a ploy by Ramadani to push Barcelona’s hand. The meeting will only ignite further rumors, but it seems there may be genuine interest from Madrid in at least one of the two players.
