The press conference started 80 minutes behind of schedule and Solari didn’t mince words.

Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari talked to the press ahead of the team’s away match against Valladolid and just some days after being knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax.

The press conference started one hour and 20 minutes later than expected yet Solari delivered some intense quotes when asked about why Isco has not been an important player for him this season.

“Disciplinary matters will be treated behind close doors in a professional way. In order to play, someone has to be in good condition and then keep that good condition and reach the competitive fitness required to play,” said the coach when asked about the Spanish midfielder.

Then, Solari was asked about the commitment of his players.

“Most players honored the club and met what’s expected from them. Whoever didn’t do that, I told them first and they know it,” added Solari in what could be his last pre-game press conference, given that Madrid are expected to sack him next Monday.

Solari was also asked why it took so long to start the press conference.

“Those things are private and they must remain that way,” said Solari, suggesting that there was some kind of team meeting after the training session.
