Real Madrid published a medical report on Mariano, who suffers a groin injury which will keep him out at least three weeks, according to reports from Spain.
After the tests carried out today on our player Mariano by Real Madrid’s Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with tendinitis in the right adductor. The player’s situation will continue to be monitored.

Mariano has been injured for most of the season and his signing has been nothing short of a disappointment even though he was expected to be a valuable attacker off the bench. In fact, Real Madrid could very well decide to part ways with him and trust another attacker to be Benzema's backup after the brilliant season completed by the Frenchman.
Either way, Mariano probably still has some value given how well he performed for Lyon last season, so Real Madrid could still decide to sell him if Zidane decides that the club needs another answer for that spot.
