Real Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement over the transfer of winger Eden Hazard and the deal could become official “in a matter of days,” according to a report from MARCA. Los Blancos will pay €100 million to sign Hazard away from Chelsea, per that same report.
Hazard’s current contract with the London-based club expires in 2020 and that’s the main reason why Madrid will be able to complete this transfer on a reasonable price, although €100 million for a player whose contract is going to expire is also a fairly good deal for Chelsea. Hazard has been keen on a move to Real Madrid for quite some time now and it seems that he will wear the white shirt next season.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Mateo Kovacic, who is currently playing for Chelsea on a loan deal. The London club would like to keep him and he wants to stay, but Chelsea received a transfer ban which will complicate things quite a lot given that it seems that Madrid will want to part ways with the midfielder on a permanent basis. Right now, it looks like he won’t be involved in the deal for Hazard,
