Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale has told the club that he wants to stay in the club past next summer, according to a report from AS. Although it seems clear that Madrid would like to sell the player and move on, it won’t be easy for Los Blancos to find a good deal if Bale doesn’t want to leave.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has publicly said many times this season that Bale is not thinking about leaving the club. Madrid, on the other hand, are looking forward to selling the player and get rid of the €17 million/year contract he currently has so that they can spend that much money on another galactico. A report from Jugones indicated that Bale could stay —even as a left-back— if Madrid don’t receive a decent and reasonable offer for him.

Bale has scored 14 goals this season but his last couple of years in Madrid have been disappointing. The club expected that he was going to lead the offense and taker the next step after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo yet the Welshman has proven many times that he’s just not a true leader.
