The flirtation has been on and off for both Hazard and Madrid for some time now—with the Belgian publicly claiming his admiration for the club on more than one occasion. A report from Marca and journalist, Jose Felix Diaz, claims that an agreement with all three parties —Chelsea, Madrid, and Hazard— has been reached. Eden Hazard is expected to be a Real Madrid player next season and the announcement should be made before the end of the season. Chelsea have understood for some months now that Hazard would like to leave and the Belgians dream to link up with Zidane at Real Madrid should now become a reality.
Marca state that the final OK came from Zinedine Zidane last week. The French coach has recognized that there is not enough players in his squad with the ability to break players down 1 v 1. There is no indication of a fee, but previous reports have hinted at a price around the region of €100 million.
Eden Hazard has long been one of the best players in the world and will add quality to Zidane’s side if signed. This season he has been the lone impact for a subpar Chelsea attack with 17 goals and 12 assists. Hazard would be the second signing of the season after Eder Militao in a summer that is expected to bring many changes.
